Clinical Outpatient Experience
The fellowship will provide exposure to both inpatient and outpatient care throughout the continuum of care from the initial contact, clinic visits, preop, operative interventions, postop, and follow-up care.

Summary of Qualifications
Igor Belyansky, M.D. received his Medical Degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in 2005. He underwent his general surgery training at Union Memorial Hospital, finishing that program in 2010. He completed a two year (one year research and one year clinical) fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC in 2012. He has been on staff at Anne Arundel Medical Center since 2012 and is currently the Director of the AWR Program and Chief of the Division of General Surgery as well as Program Director for the Advanced GI MIS Fellowship Program. Additionally, he serves as Director of the Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Program and Director of Surgical Education at the James and Sylvia Earl SAIL (Simulation to Advance Innovation and Learning) Center at AAMC. Dr. Belyansky is a board certified surgeon, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and member of the American Hernia Society and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He specializes in minimally invasive surgery with clinical interests in abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia surgery, colorectal surgery and anti-reflux surgery.

Summary of Qualifications
Dr. Park was the founding President of the Fellowship Council and long standing program director. He is the Chair for the Department of Surgery and is responsible for surgical programmatic growth, quality improvement and fostering innovation and learning in the department. He works closely with the members of Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Medical Executive Committee, medical staff and administration.
Dr. Park formerly was chair of surgery at Dalhousie University and chief of surgery for the Capital District Health Authority, both in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is the former vice chair of surgery and chief of general surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center as well as a member of the faculty at University of Maryland. Dr. Park is the former director of the Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, head of surgical endoscopy and chief of the section of gastrointestinal surgery at the University of Kentucky. He currently holds an academic appointment as Professor of Surgery at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Dr. Park is a member of the American Surgical Association, and is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, American College of Surgeons and the College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa. He received his doctor of medicine degree from McMaster University in Canada.
The author of more than 250 scientific articles and book chapters, Dr. Park is internationally known as a leading authority in minimally invasive surgery, “OR of the Future” technology and surgical education. He also is co-editor in chief of Surgical Innovation.
Dr. Park's research interests include but are not limited to the following: Physician Well-Being optimized through ergonomic and human factors study; surgical education and its sustainability in the developing world; clinical outcomes that maximize patient safety; simulation and surgical education; resource allocation maximization and continuing development of enabling technologies and methodologies within MIS.
