Fellowship Opportunity - Advanced MIS/Bariatric Fellowship

An opportunity exists for a one year fellowship for the 2024-2025 academic year in our Advanced MIS/Bariatric Fellowship. This Minimally Invasive, Robotic and Bariatric fellowship is based in a high volume private practice in Long Island, New York renowned for superior results and clinical outcomes. The successful candidate will be Board eligible/certified and will have Attending privileges at 3 long island hospitals where we currently practice. This program offers extensive exposure to state of the art Robotic, Minimally Invasive and Bariatric procedures including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, revisional bariatric surgery and flexible endoscopy as well as Minimally Invasive and Robotic General Surgery. Currently we perform approximately 700 bariatric cases per year in addition to about 400 minimally invasive general surgery cases. We are a premier bariatric and general surgery program in the area, so fellows will benefit from exposure to a wide variety of minimally invasive procedures with a focus on foregut, anti-reflux, colorectal and hernia repair. As we are the only Robotic Bariatric Surgery Intuitive Epicenter in Long Island, extensive state of the art training in robotic surgery is provided and surgeons from all over the US come to observe surgery at our center.
We are also active in clinical research and present at national and International meetings and publish in peer reviewed journals. We have dedicated staff maintaining computerized database of our cases and outcomes thus facilitating opportunities for research. Currently we are involved in number of IRB approved research studies. The successful candidate can expect to publish in peer reviewed journals as well as present at national and international meetings, such as ASMBS, SAGES and IFSO.
